Manic Man is the final entry of a three-part series examining the psychological effects of trauma on mental health and the psyche, delving into issues like depression, anxiety, and dissociation. These films serve as a proof of concept for a feature film called re:attachment, which follows the central character depicted across the short film version of re:attachment, Dona Nobis Pacem, and now Manic Man as he is interrogated by a detective following a grisly murder he is implicated in, despite having no memory of the events surrounding it. The feature script is currently under consideration by the Sundance Institute for their 2025 Feature Development Track.
Originally conceptualized in 2021, Manic Man reflects Fritz’s longtime drive to visually capture the experience of feeling out of body and disconnected from others due to dissociation. With beautiful cinematography, precise editing, immersive sound design, and professional visual effects, Fritz has finally brought his vision to life.
